Let's get straight to it and start with some 'Before' shots.
Here it is - the residence of Squirrel&Puffin. Take note of the sexy beer bottle glass, exterior blinds, and total lack of vegetation.
A close up of the front door area - again noting the beer bottle glass (sometimes called amber bullion)
The entrance way and looking through the house - what we love are the mission brown trims - or maybe not. We do actually love the almost open plan nature of this 1970's house.
The lounge - this room is at the front of the house and has plenty of natural light. Unfortunately, given this heater was original (and (40+ years old) it was deemed unsafe and has already been removed. In light of this, the air-con has also since been removed in order to install a split system.
Lounge again, looking back to the entrance way. The arches have also since been removed, thus removing some of the obvious age from the place.
Here is Puffin, hammer in hand - from the lounge, looking into dining/kitchen area.
Kitchen/Dining. A good area hampered by what is currently a opening inwards door to the outdoor area. We hope to swap this out for a sliding, or in a dream world, bi-fold/french doors.
The kitchen! The hub of the house! The drawers and cupboards we in a bad way, and the laminate had chipped in places. The tiles look like mood tiles and were originally accompanied by matching psychedelic blinds, in green and orange; probably the worst colour combination ever invented.
Looking back to the entrance way.
The thankfully sparse laundry.
Bedroom #2
Office (I think?)
Toilet - we are hoping to replace this sooner rather than later, and have already removed hand rails. Check out the toilet roll holder - capable of holding 15-30 rolls, clearly.
A fairly recent addition to the bathroom clearly - and should come up well with a new coat of paint in the room itself.
And lastly, the gorgeous floorboards that were hiding under the carpet!
